Weather Notice: Primary Health clinics may close early on Wednesday, July 24th in the case of inclement weather leading to power outages.

Telehealth Urgent Care Now Available

In an ongoing effort to provide quicker access to quality care, Primary Health Medical Group is excited to announce the launch of telehealth urgent care. This convenient service allows patients to receive the care they need within the comfort of their own homes. Appointments are available Monday – Thursday each week.

Patients will have a real-time video consultation with a Primary Health provider using a computer, smartphone, or tablet. They can discuss symptoms, ask questions, and receive medical advice without the need to visit a clinic in person.

“Telehealth, or virtual urgent care, is ideal for patients who don’t need a physical examination but still need a consultation with a healthcare provider,” explains Derek Hamblin, M.D., Director of Urgent Care at Primary Health. “Our providers can address about 20 common complaints through this service. As we enter illness season and our clinics become even busier, we encourage patients to check the list of qualifying conditions to see if telehealth urgent care could be an option for them.”

If a physical exam is needed after the telehealth consultation, the healthcare provider may schedule an in-person visit. If the patient is established with a primary care provider (PCP) at Primary Health, their PCP will receive details regarding their telehealth visit as well.
