Primary Health Urgent Care patients can now find the shortest line for the fastest care before visiting a clinic.
The new “Patient Waiting” widget is the first of its kind in the Treasure Valley, showing in real time how many urgent care patients are checked in at each clinic. This allows those in need of care to decide whether to walk in right away, or book an appointment for later.
“For years, we encouraged patients to just show up,” explained Derek Hamblin, M.D., Director of Urgent Care at Primary Health. “And while the average urgent care visit takes about an hour from check in to check out, there was always some luck involved with wait times depending on how many others came in around the same time. With this new widget, it’s easy to see how driving a few minutes to the next Primary Health clinic could put you first in line, or significantly reduce your wait.”

Primary Health Medical Group will see more than 300,000 urgent care visits this year. Development of the Patient Waiting widget was driven by the group’s mission to provide high quality, convenient care, alongside the previously publicized Tips for a Shorter Wait in Urgent Care, urgent care online booking, and the addition of telehealth urgent care.
