Dr. Johnston sees patients at our Nampa and Meridian Crossroads clinics. He originally hails from the southeast and grew up in Georgia before attending The University of Alabama for his undergraduate studies. From there, he attended McGovern Medical School at UT Health in Houston, TX before making his way to Idaho. He completed his residency training at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho, learning to take care of patients of all ages and all walks of life. He then completed an additional fellowship year in primary care sports medicine working alongside the team physicians at Boise State University as well as specialists around the Treasure Valley.
Dr. Johnston loves the long term relationships he develops with his primary care patients, and nothing gets him more excited than seeing patients succeed in making positive changes for their health over time. With his sports medicine background, he also enjoys treating patients for their acute injuries, sprains, strains, chronic overuse injuries, arthritis, etc. As a perpetual hobbyist, he loves helping patients overcome musculoskeletal ailments so they can get back to doing the things they love.
When not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Johnston out mountain biking in the foothills, skiing at Bogus, fly fishing local water, scouting for elk/mule deer, or following his bird dogs, Cedar and Olive, up a hill. If he's lucky, he'll have his wife and daughter in tow. With all that Idaho has to offer, Dr. Johnston is happy to call the Treasure Valley community his home.
