Primary Health Medical Group is now offering telehealth visits for qualifying patients who have upcoming appointments scheduled with family medicine and pediatric providers.
During a telehealth visit, the patient and physician use a free smartphone app to communicate via video chat. Because no physical exam is possible, telehealth is most appropriate for patients who need routine follow-ups with their providers.
“We understand patients may be hesitant to visit a medical clinic during the current COVID-19 pandemic, especially those with chronic conditions or weaker immune systems. Our clinic staff work diligently to keep ill patients isolated and we also disinfect all clinic areas regularly. Reducing the number of patients physically coming into the clinic also plays an important role in slowing the spread of COVID-19. That’s where telehealth visits come in. Some patients will be able to remain at home without missing an important visit with their health care provider,” explained David Peterman, Primary Health CEO and pediatrician.
Medicare, Medicaid and most major insurers have announced they will cover telehealth visits the same way they would cover in-office visits. For uninsured patients, the visit fee is $45. Primary Health is in network for all insurance plans except Humana.
Primary Health is proactively reaching out to patients eligible for telehealth visits. Any patient who needs to schedule a new family medicine visit should not hesitate to do so, and is encouraged to ask about telehealth eligibility.
